Finally printed this version - slight fiddling here and there for better clearances (buttons run close to each other). Also added a 0.4mm thick cover for the buttons area as, to get a better face, save using supports and reduce print time, I printed the lid face down. The buttons recess was therefore printed on support material and not the glass bed. It looked 'rough', even more so when I sanded it a bit . . . .
My wife said 'ugh, I don't like that', so I covered it!
The cover is an optional extra printable part - included for if you want it.
There's a barely noticeable chamfer around the buttons on the upper face - the upper is also how Thingiverse displays it..
EDIT: 18 Jun 2018 - V5_1_Final Base uploaded (old removed), Clearance issues with 'Anti-rotation' bit.
SHOULD HAVE GONE FOR SQUARE BUTTONS!!!
EDIT: 17 Jun 2018
V5 (and final, maybe) uploaded. Changed back to the original staggered split around the battery compartment, it left annoying bits of support material and caused interference issues with the battery contacts.
This final(ish) version has some added recesses to hopefully hold the USB PCB a bit better, the anti-rotation bits for the button has moved to their outer edges (the tiddly bit between them just snapped off), and the screw holes are deeper (for shorter screws) with a bit more 'meat' around them.
Finally, I could NOT get those damned locating rings in the base to line up exactly with the screws on the bottom of the LCR Meter, I just ended up cutting bits away to fit, NOW however, the bits I cut away are gone and you're just left with 4 locating corners! Fingers crossed eh!
Hopefully this one works just grand, all the others have had issues that needed slight fettling to fit.
I'll be removing all the others so there's just one version - just so you don't try to mix & match.
Enjoy, I have. :)
EDIT: 15 Jun 2018
V4 uploaded - split the Lid and Base differently to avoid the step around the battery compartment.
Beefed up the upper screw fixing in the lid - it snapped off!
Faffed with the buttons and the anti-rotation part of the lid (square would have been easier)!
Few other design fiddles to hopefully make a difference.
STILL A WIP THOUGH - Bear that in mind . . . . .
I have one of those myriad 'eBay Special' component testers - you know the type - there are many different versions.
Of all the cases on Thingiverse I couldn't find one that matched my requirements - so out came Fusion360.
I originally tried measuring and drawing as I went, but even with careful use of a set of digital callipers, I STILL managed to screw things up. That's when I gave up for a few months - fast forward to now(ish), and I had another crack at the design, the main difference this time was, I elected to model the bits that go into the case first - and then draw the case around them!
So that's what I've done, the case is fairly basic, but should fit my design - if I measured right.
Included are pictures of the basic 3D models for the USB Charge PCB, a Buck Boost Regulator, the 18650 Cell (hence the Boost Reg - to change the 3.6V to the required 9V), Battery Spring Contacts (I'm THAT sad) and, most importantly, the Component Tester itself.
(STLs aren't included for all the other build parts - as they're just for modelling fit - but if someone really asks nicely . . . . ) ;)
As stated in the printing notes, I've not tried it yet - just finished it at 1a.m.
Enjoy and I'll keep this updated as required.
