This great design allows the use of several parts and can be assembled easily. Simultaneously there is no danger to break it.
The striking advantage of this design is the possibility to use colored plexiglass or acrylic.
With the popular kits for hobbyists that you can stick together the only material which can be used is rolled XT. Otherwise it will break because of the high tolerances regarding the thickness that are used by the system itself—especially when the case is dissembled and reassembled very often.
Unfortunately, XT is only available in very few colors and does not allow the user to make use of significantly different degrees of thickness.
So it is a lot cleverer to only manufacture the lids in GS (cast) while all of the side parts are made of XT (rolled).
For an easy assembly use 20mm spacers and M3 6mm screws.
By the way, it is not possible to assemble the case the wrong way. Its parts only fit with the correct orientation. It cannot be assembled in a mirror-inverted way, for example. Simple and awesome!
Following the assembly the case is astoundingly stable in spite of the quartering.

Das tolle Design, was Mehrteiligkeit erlaubt und leicht montierbar ist, dabei keinerlei Bruchgefahr.
Der absolute Vorteil dieses Designs ist die Verwendbarkeit von farbigen Plexiglas bzw. Acryl. Bei den bekannten „zusammensteckbaren“ Bastelsätzen muss ausschließlich gewalztes XT verwendet werden, ansonsten kommt es aufgrund der systembedingten hohen Toleranzen der Dicke, immer wieder zu Bruch. Gerade wenn öfter mal das Gehäuse demontiert/montiert wird. Leider gibt es XT (sehr geringe Toleranzen in der Dicke) nur in wenigen Einfärbungen. Daher ist es viel cleverer nur die Deckel in GS (gegossen) zu produzieren. Die Seitenteile sind alle XT (gewalzt). Für die einfache Montierbarkeit 20mm Spacer + M3 6mm Schrauben. NIE WIEDER BRUCH!
Ach - und es ist nicht möglich falsch zu montieren, die Teile passen nur in der korrekten Ausrichtung. Keine nervige, spiegelverkehrtes Zusammensetzen möglich. Einfach und klasse!
Zum Schluss noch der Hinweis, nach Montage ist das Gehäuse trotz der Vierteilung verblüffend stabil - also keine Hemmungen - viel Spaß beim Nachbau!
