Unfortunately, the (china) laser modules that I have are all quite off axis, so I decided I need a version where you can compensate for this.
The laser module bore in this variant is a step bore that features 2 mm diameter for the laser beam to pass the adjustment plane, a 6 mm part to center the front of the laser module, and a wider part which provides room for adjustment. Adjustment is done by means of 3 M3 screws. The bores are 2.6mm diameter, so that a M3 thread can be cut in.
Adjustment procedure is simply done by turning the thing with laser on while sitting in the ocular mount and adjust the 3 screws until the spot does no longer move when the collimator is turned.
Procedure to adjust the telescope is to first center the laser spot on the main mirror then align reflected spot to center on collimator display. Plenty stuff is online on this.
And, of course, DO NOT STARE INTO THE LASER BEAM!!!
Part list:
6mm laser module (just google for "6mm laser module")
some power supply for it (battery),
M3 thread cutter
3 M3 screws, about 20 mm long
