This is the roof I use on all of my hives. Cons: Cannot use it as a stand Heavier than traditional flat top Pros: Looks better than a flat top Ventilation is good The cuts are simple enough to follow The added height of the roof helps to pull warm moist air out of the hive, and cool dry air. In winter and poor weather the overhang helps to keep some moisture away from the hive bodies.
