Ladder - Attic Access

I designed and built this attic ladder to access the attic space over my shop storage area. I put OSB decking on top of the ceiling joist in the shop storage area. The ladder is located in my work shop area where I have a cathedral ceiling. The top of the ladder is attached to the wall with brackets that allow the bottom of the ladder to be pulled out while in use and pushed back in when not in use. The brackets prevent the ladder from kicking out while in use. The brackets also allow the ladder to stand flush against the wall when not in use so as not to take up as much space in my work shop. The brackets for the top of the ladder were built using a drill press and a 4-1/2' hand grinder. When toggling between the 'Ladder Out' view and the 'Ladder In' view it will show the two positions of the ladder. The ladder legs were built from 2x8s and the rungs 2x6s. If I had to build it again I would build the whole thing from 2x6s to reduce the weight. The handrails were built from 1' conduit that I bent with a handheld conduit bender.
