A Holographic Weapons Sight (HWS) is a type of rail mounted close combat, small arms optical reflex sight that uses laser and holographic technology to reflect a reticle (aim point image) onto an internal viewscreen for superimposition on a target to enhance the point of aim on that target. Reflex sights are most commonly configured as non-magnifying firearms sights featuring a small, clear screen (usually about 2' x 2') on which the holographic image is projected. This model represents the L-3 EOTech Holographic Weapons Sight – Model 555.A65, a 1x magnification unit equipped with an A.R.M.S. DUAL Throw Lever ( MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny or Weaver Rail) mounting adapter with a 7mm raised base. A variation of the company's Model 553 sight, the unit’s state-of-the-art digital electronics design is powered by AA batteries (alkaline, lithium or rechargeable) and features twenty brightness levels to ensure proper brightness control in either low light or very bright sunlight. An on-board microprocessor provides automatic battery check indicator, up/down brightness scrolling and programmable auto shutdown features. The sight features a heads up design that allows both eyes to be open in order to maintain peripheral vision and depth perception while shooting. It features the standard A65-1 aiming reticle (65 moa outer / 1 moa central red dot) whose outer diameter is about the size of a 6 foot target – an average height of an adult man seen from a distance of 100 meters. #aim #arms #battery #dot #Eotech #hologram #holographic #moa #reticle #rifle #sight #weapon
