Kumari-Class Starship Dominion War Refit

During the early days of the Dominion War, Starfleet started sending every decommisioned ship back into service, and updating or refitting old ships. One of the classes to be refitted was the Kumari, that was still operational during this time, but as an old science vessel. Starfleet based the refit on admiral Guenther unsuccessful Ingram Project of 2289. The ship shuttlebays were expanded, and a new hull plating, new bussard collectors, another forward torpedo launcher and two megaphaser emplacements were added. The two aft torpedo launchers were replaced by another shuttlebay door, and some other changes were made. The refitted Kumari-class proved to be a good addition to the Federation Alliance fleet and took part of several major battles, including “Operation Return” and both battles of Chintoka. After the Dominion War, some of the ships were retrofitted and were sent to explore the final frontier once again, but the majority of the ships were keeped with the latest configuration.
