A KitBash of RedShoulders Excelsior-B model https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/by/RedShoulders?nav=models. The Sulu subclass is a backstop class built off the damaged/crippled hulls of Excelsior class ships during the Dominion War. The Excelsior class being an old and faithful ship it served well as a cruiser during the War leading to many of them being severely damaged in many cases. The ships that could be recovered could be converted into a myriad of hodgepodge ships including the Sulu class which took the saucer of an Exelsior and put it on an Exelsior hull. The nacelles were often attacked by Dominion warships in order to keep the ship from escaping, leading to damage to the pylons in Sulu subclasses often combining mismatched pylons and nacelles from different Exelsior types. #excelsior #excelsiorclass #startrek #starship #spaceship #star_trek #Deep_Space_Nine #DS9
