Vanguard Fleet Standard Deployment Doctrine employs the Kestrel in Squadrons of 8 Fighters in multiple mission scenarios and a variety of theaters of operation. Primarily developed as first-line-of-defense escorts for frigates and cruisers their exceptional performance and versatility quickly resulted in an expansion of their role to medium-range offensive strike forces both in space and transatmospheric applications. The Kestrel is equipped with Sub-Light Nacelles capable of sustained flight at Mach 9 in a Standard Earth Atmosphere, is a top-of-the-line stealth craft with proprietary undisclosed technology (no photos or accurate renderings exist on the public net), and are believed to be armed with 16 Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles, 4 Focused Laser Arrays, 2 40 mm Autocannons, 2 25 mm Machineguns, and 2 Short Range Guided Bomb Bays. Crew consists of 1 Pilot/Gunner but the craft can easily be operated remotely. Galaxy Class Carriers typically employ 4 Armadas of between 12 and 18 Wings (4 Squadrons each) or between 1,536 and 2,304 Kestrels depending upon their configuration. It is estimated that in the last 18 months Vanguard Fleet has produced nearly 20,000 Kestrels and has nearly 80,000 in service. #Role_Playing_Game_Models #Spacecraft #Vanguard_Fleet
