These are 3d printed axle spacers for "The Kayak Cart"
https://www.thekayakcart.com/
I was looking for a cart for our Sea Kayaks that would be easy to use, and easy to store inside the Kayaks. The Kayak Cart with 7" wheels fits perfectly inside the rear dry bays in our Delta 16 and Delta 17 Kayaks. The 7" wheels, however are kinda lacking when it comes to portaging over sand. They make an 11" model for $10 more...but that model will not fit inside our storage compartments without first taking it apart. I wanted to have the option to use 7" wheels...for times we have a nice flat solid surface to portage over...which will make stashing the cart inside the kayaks a breeze... and also have the option of switching out the 7" wheels to the 11" size for times we know the sand will be a factor, which is common in Florida. I reached out to the company...they said that if I purchased the 7" model...they could assemble a kit with wheels, axle, and spacers for $50. We have two kayaks...so that adds up to $100 for the ability to swap out wheels.
It was easier and less expensive to just pay the extra $10 and purchase the 11" model. The parts for converting to 7" are readily available at Home Depot. The 7" wheels are common Lawnmower wheels...at $8.98 each...and a piece of 1/2" x 36" Aluminum Rod is $7.21. SO, for $22.57 per cart...we can switch over to 7"... The only thing needed is to add spacers...which are EASY!!! to print using a 3D printer.
The files I have are spacers that I designed for the 7" cart...and an improved set for my original 11" wheels. The spacer that comes with the cart is just plastic tubing cut to length...it doesn't fit the axle very well at all.
If you are into Kayaking...I realize there are a lot of Carts available...and we have even made some pretty nice DIY carts. But...although the price is outrageous, I found these Carts to be suitable for storing inside the Kayak. You don't always end up where you started...so leaving the Carts behind is not an option.
Enjoy...
