Julang ngapak is a type of traditional house for the Sundanese people, which in Indonesian means a bird flapping its wings. The meaning comes from the words Julang which means bird and Ngapak means to flap. This traditional house is called Julang Ngapak because the roof design of the house is exactly like a bird flapping its wings. The shape of the roof is wide on each side, and at the top it is in the shape of the letter “V” so that overall this traditional house resembles a bird flapping its wings. Another characteristic of the Julang Ngapak traditional house is that on the ridge there is a roof complement in the form of a scissor fork or hurang claw. The function of the scissors or hurang claws is to anticipate or prevent rainwater from seeping, especially at the meeting point between the roofs. Some of the houses in the form of Julang Ngapak will be found in the Tasikmalaya area. Traditional villages such as Dukuh village, Naga village, Kuningan, and other places in West Java. - Julang Ngapak - Buy Royalty Free 3D model by Asyraaf Ahmadi (@asyraaf)
