A jig for cutting thick wire or metal tubes with a jeweller's saw.
Requires 3x M5x6 heat-set inserts and 2x M5 bolts. Slots for mounting to a desk or board with 4mm or #8 wood screws (countersunk).
3 parts:
1x Sled: has a 45 degree slot in it in which you put your tube. It also has two holes on the front for the M5 inserts.
1x Slide: Space for 1 M5 insert and an M5 bolt for holding the slide in place. I do not provide a knurled bolt design here, but there are plenty of those around.
1x Slot: can be mounted either direction for left- or right-handed cutting. Also needs an M5 bolt to hold it in place.
Measure the amount of cut you need. Move the slide up the sled so that the slot to the slide stop is the length you want. Tighten the sled in place. Hold the tube against the sled, and cut with a saw in the slot.
