A desk fan inspired by a jet engine.
Updated version but STILL DON'T PRINT THIS YET! This is a prototype, it needs some more tweaking before it's really usable.
This version is working, it's relatively quiet and quite pleasant (although not very powerful) but it gets far too hot due to inadequate motor cooling.
The fan needs a shaded pole induction motor from a desk fan (mine cost £10 from Argos) which drives a centrifugal compressor (found on early jet engines and turboprop/turboshaft engines now). The compressor pushes air through the small gap around the shroud.
All made in OpenSCAD, latest code on my Github (https://github.com/pittance)
