On our way building an overland vehicle, we need a emergency sleeping solution directly in our Jeep Wrangler JLU (in case of storm and high winds). While sleeping in a car, it's important to have an air ventilation system. Since we've planned to add a auxiliary heating system, we want to be able to direct the heat into a roof top tent (since we're mostly traveling in worlds northern hemisphere).
That's why I built a prototype for this window aeration panels.
Important information:
This prototype is WORK IN PROGRESS and not final. There are some errors in my design, which I had to fix in postprocessing. Nevertheless I could test this prototype in real life on a short trip and I know some improvement needs for the final product.
Improvements on my to do list:
a bigger heating hose connector, since we have a 75mm (2.95inch) diameter hose in the mean time and not one with 60mm (2.36inch), as I supposed while building this prototype
correcting some alignment issues, which occured while drawing
connecting the panels in parallel, to save filament und keep the stability while printing
I will use black filament for the final product
What works great:
the concept itself
it's rainproof
ABS-S works fine for this project (it will be enough heat and frostiness resistent and the print quality is nice)
I decided to share this prototype anyway with you, as an inspiration for our maker community. Any feedback and suggestions are very welcome.
