What: James Webb golden decoration mirror, made from wood (MDF), using a circular saw and an oscillating multitool. Painted black, glued mirrors on. Mirror is ~650mm in diameter

How:
The PDF contains a drawing that can be printed (use poster option in adobe) and fitted to be a 1:1 scale example. place the cut out drawing on the wood. Use spray paint to get the contour. Saw the shape out of 15mm thick wood (I used MDF) make sure not to cut too deep. Use 2 layers of primer & 2 layers of black medium gloss, make sure to sand even after the first 3 layers. Then, take the 18 mirrors and line them up such that production errors of the cut mirrors are at the same side, you can feel this by hand, or measure this with a calliper (This is actually very important for a nice lineup of the mirrors). Place the first mirror exactly in the middle of the wooden hexagon, fasten with adhesive tape and remember its rotation. Glue the 6 mirrors on the wood (with the same orientation as the middle one! ) and shift them such that all mirrors have exactly 3mm spacing between them. You can take out the middle mirror and repeat the process with the remaining 12 hexagons. Let the mirror dry, screw a mounting hook at the back, peel off the protective film from the mirrors and you are done.

(CAREFUL: These are plastic mirrors and will be damaged quickly. Make sure to clean with water, soap and a soft towel. Don't use mirror cleaner or paper)
