We have improved the performance of our on "Layered Moineau based pump: Model 131313" by @SciFabLab -see: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1840527 for pumping a controlled quantity of viscous material in vertical direction.

We have rounded up all layers to avoid any flux lost due to the induced high pressure inside the pump. The Layers form a cylinder (that may be heated up when printed in metal) -we have recently shown (Jan 2017) how our multi-layer Moineau-based pump can easily extrude a controlled quantity of viscous plastic PLA, which could be used in RepRap 3D printers -see YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVAJQfXY_PE
