Very little is known about the Illyrians as studies and archeological research has been greatly neglected and ignored. The origin of the Illyrians goes back to pre historic times or even further back. They Inhabited the Easter Adriatic coast from modern Day Slovenia to Middle of Albania. Illyrians also Inhabited and controlled the italian Adriatic Sea Coast long before the Romans came into the region. Etrucian civilization is linked to the Illyrians the classical temples and ancient Italian tribes were in fact same tribe as the Illyrians.

Zeus was the supreme God, the Sun God the Egyptians called him RA the Pealsgians called him Zeus so too the Hellens adopted and worshiped him as Zeus. Zeus had a son whom he named Dardanus, from Dardanus came Illus or Hyllus. Its from Hyllus (Albanian star) that the Illyrians both in name and origin trace their ancestory. Illyrians were one of the many Pelasgic tribes one of the most dominant who ruled and controlled the Balkan Peninsula. The rise of the Illyrians was seen with King Adrea of the Adrean tribe during the Bronze Age. It is from King Adrea that the Adreatic Sea takes its name. During his regin king Adrea was betrayed by his brother who tried to overthrow him, so He called Achilles to his aid and eventually he defeated his brother and allowed Achilles to control some of his territories in the ancient Achean Region (around Peloponnese area). The Legend says that during the battle Achilles accidentally killed Adreas son who was named Ion, and his body was put to the sea and thats where the name of Ionian Sea comes from possibly.

Greatly neglected and ignored by historians and academics the Illyrians were very advanced tribe especially in ship building. The Liburna, Pristis, Lembus were among the most advanced, light, strong, well build ships in the classical and ancient world exceeding the Egyptians or the Hellenes. As a matter of fact the Greek Triremes ships began to look a lot more like the Illyrian ships. Also the Romans adopted and based their naval feels from the Illyrian ships. Illyrians were big in size, thick headed, most of them blondes, very skillful and brutal warriors especially in naval warfare they invented it.

In Classical Times the Illyrians rose to power with King Agron of the Adrea Tribe. Agron controlled and managed to dominate the whole region from the Thracians, Dacians, Panonians, Molossians, Hellenic Greeks even terrorized the Romans for a period of time. After his death His Noble wife Teuta second wife controlled and ruled his empire. Although a woman Teuta was a wise noble fair and very sharp ruler she withstood the wrath of Rome and refused to bow down to them till her death. Although she didnt have a son with king Agron she stood as guarding of his empire for his Son with the first wife Pin until he would become of ruling age. Teuta was and still is regarded by the Albanians as one of the greatest and most noble of Queens to rule the land. She was ruthless and refused to bow down to anyone. Teuta was betrayed by one of her generals and eventually the Illyrian Empire fell to the romans. The last of the Illyrian Kings to rule was King Gentus who was son of Skerdilajti one of Teutas most loyal and trusted Generals. King Gentus too brought a golden age for his short period of rule but eventually he too was betrayed captured and send to rome to live in exile. Gentus was a brilliant scientist he invented the antibiotic gentamicine. His mausoleum still exists today in Italy.
