IJN Kaga

This is a mostly accurate model of the IJN's Aircraft Carrier, Kaga. The Kaga began as a Tosa class battleship in 1921, but was converted to an aircraft carrier in 1928 - which explains its weird shape. It could carry about 60 airplanes total in its 3 hangars. Together with another IJN aircraft carrier, Akagi, she formed Carrier Division 1 of the Striking Force for the attack on Pearl Harbor. This ship was heavily damaged by American SBD Dive Bombers from USS Hornet and USS Enterprise on June 4th, 1942, and was scuttled the next day.
