The IDE FilaSense Filament Runout Sensor prevents failed / incomplete prints, caused by filament runout. When the sensor recognizes the end of the filament, it sets your printer to pause (there is a cold- and a warm pause mode, to fit every need). It gives an accustic signal for 10 seconds and after that it sends a discreet beep every 30 seconds. So even if you are out of office you can change the filament when you are back, and you are able to complete the print. Super easy installation and handling. No modifications on the electronics or the firmware and software needed, you only need to plug it in.
