General Information
If you are using BoothyBoothy's great "Hydra Fan Duct" but suffer from heat creep when printing at really low layer heights for example, then look no further! The "Heat Creeper" is here to solve that for you and it guaranteed won't blow you up... ;)
It workes great, if you converted to an all-metal hotend like me. If you are still using a PTFE guided hotend like the standard creality one, then this part will probably not be needed as cooling performance should be sufficient.
Further Details
This part is designed to better channel the hotend cooling fan's air without introducing too much back pressure or resistance.
The cross-section is divided into four sub-sections to reduce the turbulence produced by axial fans, improving air flow over the hotend's heat sink. Also, the horizontal beam curves downwards to guide the air at an angle over the heat sink, further improving cooling performance. Additionally, the hotend is slightly embraced, so almost no air can move past the sides of the hotend. All of this is achieved while still maintaining smooth surfaces, shallow angles and minimizing the part's thickness.
If you have ideas for improvements, feel free to contact me!
Printing
I printed it in HT-PLA because it is rather close the heat block. However, it is directly cooled by the hotend fan all the time, so PLA should actually be fine but its not tested.
It requires no supports and generally is an easy print.
Happy printing!
Updates
If any changes have been made after the first release, you will find them here:
10.02.20 Initial release
12.02.20 Uploaded a variant without beams for easier printing with stringy filaments like PETG (Thank you BoothyBoothy for mentioning it!)
