Jack London memorial. Built by his wife after his death on land they purchased for their home. The original home built while Jack London was alive, was called 'Wolf House' Sadly it burned down the day before they were to move in. The ruins of that house are still on the site near the house built by his wife. Jack London died in 1916, 3 years after the fire destroyed his 'Wolf House'. After her death in 1955, London's widow, Charmaine, left the land and building to the state of California to honor her husband's memory. The Jack London State Park is in Glen Ellen area, the land on a former vinyard purchased by London and his wife. #author #Jack_London #landmark #literary #Stone_house
