I designed these caps for my Anycubic Prusa i3 printer which uses 4 springs to level the bed. I noticed that the springs move slightly to the outside when compressed and I often had to re-level the bed after some time printing.
These caps fit the springs perfectly so that they cannot move laterally any longer. The height of the caps is chosen so that the springs are about 50% compressed.
Just place the springs through the cap holes and re-install the hotbed. Then tighten the screws so that the hotbed presses slightly on the caps. If the printer is well built, no more leveling will be necessary.
The springs on my printer have an outer diameter of 5.2 mm. The hole in the caps is slightly larger, but still you might have to post-process the holes with a file - depending on your printer.
Use PETG or ABS (not PLA!) because the caps come in direct contact with the hotbed.
