A better way to retain the strap instead of using the original rubber ring.
If you want a smoother feel on the skin you can skip the first layer or give it a light sanding - I can't feel anything even with the actual design.
If you remove the buckle it would be a button strap like the Mi Band smartband, but in reverse. I reckon that the "spikes" would be harsher on the skin rather than the flat part.
