Queensland Railways ( QR ) FJS 4 Wheel Open Wagon
For:
1:87, HO Narrow gauge
What it is:
A low detail 4 wheel wagon (Not up to the quality of a modern ready to run wagon, this is a kit!)
No buffers supplied, use HO Cast white metal or Wuiske Models WPD011 "MODERN FREIGHT BUFFERS" (Untested)
3 Versions:
HOe / HOn30 / HOm Scale on 12mm or 9mm track, Bemo 8.5mm wheels/18.5mm axle and 2mm top hat bearings
1:87, HOm / HOn42 Scale on 12mm track, 20mm Axle. Wuiske Models QRB082 9.6mm Wheel/20mm axle sets and 2mm top hat bearings (Untested, as I do not have any 20mm Axles)
1:87, HOe Scale on 9mm track, using Dundas DW90/91 9mm wheels/15mm axle and 1mm top hat bearings (Untested)
Additional Parts Needed:
4 x 2mm "Top Hat" Bearings - 00 Gauge Romford Pin-Point Brass Bearings, Shouldered Type DW22 (Got my last lot from https://dundasmodels.co.uk/) (1mm bearings for HOe only version)
2mm Drill to gently clean out the axle holes (1mm for HOe only version)
1.2mm drill for cleaning out the buffer holes
0.5mm drill and brass wire for fitting hand brake
Couplers, not set up for any type/brand
Weight for wagon
Fill a Gap Super Glue (i.e. Zap a Gap)
Notes:
Download side and end walls from the original Sn42 version, these need to be reduced to 73.6% in your slicer program.
The short walls go on the inside
The final product will depend on the quality of the printer and how well you have your settings under control
Supplied as is, no support and no promises
I recommend using a 0.3mm Nozzle for better detail and 0.1 or 0.08mm layering
** FYI found a small mistake in the fitting of the side frames, so please check that you have V4-2-1 or latter. (earlier version needs 0.5mm trimming of the length of side frames)
Please leave a comment if you build one!
