Hi-poly Wrist Watch

hi people!my third entry is something i was working on for some days. it's a festina f16358 wrist watch that i own. this one proved to be quite a challenge since the watch is filled with small details that i wanted to make. with body alone i had to start three times from the beginning to get mesh as clean as possible (i hope it is now). the first time it looked like...well... imagine a ball of twine after 25 kittens had played with it... :-))there aren't any textures, every detail is separate object sticking few pixels out of the surface. not everything is great though. obviously the boolean modifier would work better because smaller objects would follow the curvature of the surface. but the boolean modifier refused to cooperate, sometimes it worked but more often than not the resulting mesh was all over the place, no matter what i tried, so i ended up sticking it all out of the surface (for example, the markings on the top of the watch - the rim - should be carved into the surface). the only thing that i did was the holes for the knobs, and that alone included a lot of remodeling after boolean, moving vertices, deleting edges... in the end i was to exhausted to do ALL of it by hand... maybe some day, but definitely not now... ;-)))the wrist band was somewhat rushed and is not very high detail. i'll have to add more detail later and remodel the clamp also. but i guess it'll do for now. oh, and don't mind the coral reef material that's supposed to act as the sponge material on the holder (LOL). it's there just so the watch doesn't float in the air... the lighting was achieved entirely through GI and an environmental image texture (that i forgot where i have downloaded it from - i hope i'm not breaking some rules there). i have tried with lights but could not get the reflections the right way, there was either to much or to little to see the details.i hope you'll like it. enjoy!!
