****4/26/15 - I had to step away from this design for a bit and come back to see how I felt about it. Yeah I'm happy with it. After I added some white to the sides of the casing which gave it a bit more appeal, I considered it a finished design, at least where the Upright device is concerned. I really like how the upright device looks from all angles. Front, sides and rear all look very nice to me. Absolutely screams new tech. However the Recumbent machine definitely needs a matching casing to go under the seat IMO. I think that would give it more finished and complete look. I guess if I end up as one of the finalists, I'll put something together for that as well as upload the models that have the correct attachment geometries for the covering parts.

****Entry Date - submission for the Helix Co. exercise equipment casing design challenge

This one was a tough one boy. Had I know it would've been this much of a job I would started at least a week earlier. I think the biggest challenge was trying to design a casiing that works with both devices and can look good in two very different positions. In any case, I'm not sure how I feel about this one. I honestly don't know if it's something I really like or something that I incredibly despise. I think maybe removing that curve at the bottom would probably make it more visually appealing to me at least. I feel as if that bottom part make the whole casing look like that fat kid from Modern Family or even like a giant tortoise when in the recumbent position. It also seems to resemble large clogs when on the Tilted upright device. Hmmm...anyway the parts are not as shelled out as they should be as I found it very difficult to do so coming down to the wire. Also maybe how I've halved it may not have been the best way to do it, but it seems to work. Whatever the case, it definitely ain't your daddy's stairmaster.

The parts would be injection molded with parts of the mold highly polished to give that high gloss effect seen in some of the images. The rest of the parts are pretty much just roughed ABS, that's either painted with a bit of green or dressed up with some stickers. It's not a completely "designed for injection molded" device and the covers are missing the appropriate geometries to allow them to fit and snap into place. But for all intents and purposes I suppose, it is a complete entry.
