Heavy Turret MK IX

The MK IX heavy turret is fitted with both missiles and a heavy gun.The pods on the side hold 30 missiles consisting of 3 heavy rounds,6 cluster rounds and 21 anti-ship rounds.The black domes are radar and gradar (gravitational detection and ranging)scanners whilst the central metal barrel is the heavy laser gun. The missiles have antimatter warheads so must be supplied with power at all times to keep the containment field active and prevent the antimatter annhilating with the surrounding matter. The turret is controlled from further inside the ship (control room shown below in this model) where there are two radar and gradar operators, a gunner (on the left) who controls the rotation of the turret and the elevation of the central part with the joystick on his right, and a missile operator who has a joystick for targetting missiles and controlling the angle of the missile pods and another(on his left) for piloting the missiles manually if he chooses to do so. The turret can also be fitted upside down or at an angle.
