I was looking for a heavy duty pocket hole jig for use on material larger than 1.5 inches thick. Kreg make the Kreg HD but want $70 for it. Decided to make my own. I made a single bore design but you can easily make a double from this design.I have a center notch in the end to line up with marks on the lumber. Because most of the strength comes from the shell, I made a number of pockets in the design for clamping strength and plastic reduction. The bronze drill guide can be found at the following stores. Or you can source locally.

For the screws I used Spax #10 2 1/2 construction screws with wafer head. Can be found in indoor and outdoor types.
