I have discovered through use that the roll plate is a weak point so I have uploaded a new 2 piece design. It can be added without having to redo or rethread any of the wiring, Just cut the old roll plate away with strong wire cutters or whatever and mount the new assembly in place as per photos. Rebalance the roll afterwards and you will probably have to rebalance the yaw axis as well.

I have added an alternative rail mount which you can use if you only want the gimbal to be drone mounted. It can use up to 12 anti-vibration ball mounts. Depending upon how squishy they are you can use 4,8 or 12 rubber mounts. I have used 8 of the grey dji zenmuse ball mounts which I have found is about right for my quad. There are 2 printed parts and this mount uses extension rather than compression (it hangs) You will also need a metal motor mount that will fit your motor. These are easy to come by on ebay etc. The photographs that I have added illustrate the assembly.
This is a 3D printed gimbal which can be used hand-held or mounted on a drone. It is Specifically for the BlackMagic Micro Cinema camera but may be used on any mid sized camera such as the GH3 or Olympus E-M10. It uses hollow shaft motors so can turn through 360 degrees on all axes. I have tested it with Alexmos32 and Storm32 controllers. I have included a simple controller for the BlackMagic camera giving remote focus, zoom and aperture on the handheld version as well as joystick control. These functions can be duplicated via SBUS on the airborne version.
You are sure to hear more about the BlackMagic Micro Cinema camera. It is an amazing little device, full broadcast quality with 12bit dynamic range. It is specifically designed for remote operation, especially drones as it supports SBUS and PWM for all camera functions. Put a telephoto lens on your drone and get zoom capability and remote focus!
