A saw is a tool designed to cut wood or other materials in order to divide a piece of material into smaller parts according to the desired measurements. It consists of a toothed blade that can be straight, circular or ribbon, fastened to a support for manual or motorized use. The saw can also be used as a musical instrument (see music saw). Though Greek mythology attributes to Perdix, Dedalo's grandson, the invention of the saw, ancient finds of ancient Egypt suggest an older origin (predinational Egypt). #hacksaw
