my H-copter frame is running a APM2.6 FC and it seemed a shame not to be taking advantage of its onboard gimbal stabilization features so I quickly through this design together, printed it, fitted it to my frame and test flew is throughout this morning and I am pleased to inform all it works very well indeed.
the parts are held together with various assorted 2mm screws and bolts I had knocking about but anything not to long (10mm or less in length) and with 2mm thread diameter will do just fine (even the screws that generally come with servo's will suffice).
the servo itself is a Tower-Pro MG995 (Digital Hi-speed) but any similar sized servo will do.
I do advice that you dont use smaller digi servo's as even though their rated for the task they very rarely have the torque to give you nice smooth clean movement, which is what you want on any servo gimbal (also dont use analogue servo's, they just cant keep up with fine movements on a gimbal)
all in all its a very simple concept designed to do one task, namely supply pitch cam stabilization which it does perfectly imho, again Ive used my snap-on/snap-off fitting style so its a 30 second job to swap it out or in if you want to change from the fixed position mount.
