Imola - The fifth race of the 2010 GPWS season sees the series move to Italy, for the 1st GPworld series Grand Prix of Italy. Matthew Wood pips local driver Fisichella of Bondovic to pole in the last few moments of qualifying, but the real story is Ferrari driver Mentalist starting third in his WRI run Ferrari after an epic lap to please the home crowd.----Italians are pleased all around, with Fisichella taking a home victory ahead of Ferrari-WRI driver Mentalist and Matthew Wood. Wood made a mistake on lap 7 as a short rain shower started, allowing Fisichella and Mentalist to pass. Sebastian Bourdais continues to improve, finishing 4th despite a spin during the rain shower. Felixamir Bondovic bounced back after a bad Pau GP to finish 5th, with Bruno Senna 6th following ORT's terrible Pau GP. Pau winner Rockenfeller had an uneventful race and finished 7th, with Villa struggling, losing 7 places during the rain, before fighting his way up to 8th to get some vital points. Hywel Lloyd returned to the points in 9th after a gutsy drive from 17th at the end of the first lap. Romain Grosjean gained his first points of the season for Techno Racing by finishing 10th after gaining from a 2nd lap crash that took out 4 cars. Sinate fought his way up to 11th from 23rd after his engine blew, but Anthony Davidson took fastest lap point on lap 56.----Matthew Wood leaves Europe as the series heads to the Americas with the championship lead.
