'Gort', the giant robot from the movie 'The Day the Earth Stood Still' (1951) remains one of the most famous robots of all time. Standing eight feet tall, and endowed with almost unlimited power by his alien creators, he poses an impressive figure even to this day. So much so that he has been recreated in a full scale model by Fred Barton Productions, Inc. The model of 'Gort' presented here is a reproduction of the Fred Barton Full Scale Replica. There are, however, some subtle differences between this reproduction and the actual movie version of 'Gort'. These differences can be found by comparing my original model with this version. As with my first model, 'Gort's outer visor can be moved open or closed, and his laser beam activated via the Layer Manager.
