This is an outline for a dive frame I made a couple of years ago to take my Gopro underwater. The key aim was a versatile mount enabling stable video shooting, a small tripod for static shots and a selfie capability for vanity shots!
The thing is made from
20mm PVC conduit -
1 piece 300mm long
2 pieces 140mm long
2 pieces 30mm long
about 1m of 6mm bungee cord
1 of 3 Way Tee Junction Box - [Black 20mm] (https://www.wickes.co.uk/Products/Electrical+Lighting/Electrical-Cable+Cable-Management/Cable-Management/c/1000062?q=%3A%3AType%3AConduits&text=&Conduits=Conduits#)
2 of Wickes Trunking Inspection Elbow - [Black 20mm] (https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Trunking-Inspection-Elbow---Black-20mm/p/712965)
The Gopro is mounted on the junction unit using a sticky rotation mount.
The only 3d printed bit of this is the plugs that are used to seal the ends of the conduits.
To assemble you
thread bunngee through an end cap and knot the end so it can't pull through the hole (the knot should be next to the wider portion of the plug).
2 .Now thread the bungee through one of the 140mm tubes,
through an elbow, (its handy to remove the lid)
through a short tube,
straight across across the 3 way junction (its handy to remove the lid)
through another short tube,
another elbow , (its handy to remove the lid)
another 140mm tube
and finally a second end cap.
Pull the bungee tight to get all the bits to slide into position and pull enough tension to make it stiff to rotate the bits about one another. cut the extra bungee off - you need it for the next bit.
Take the lid off from the union and tie a second piece of bungee using a bowline to the bungee crossing this, then thread the rest out of the third port, then through the 300mm tube. Finally thread the free end through the third plug, pull tight to seat the tube an knot off. You can use the spare bungee to knot into a loop for attaching a piston clip or similar to secure the frame to your scuba gear.
Screw the lids back onto the junction and elbows
Stick the gopro mount onto the junction and you are ready to dive.
