I don't have too much place in my house, so my printer must be stored in the garage when i don't use it.
So i made this cabinet to store and protect the printer.
At the same time i had various issues with ABS printing (warping, etc...).
This cabinet can also be used as thermal protection for ABS printing. With the windows, you can see the printing process.
The cabinet is made with 16mm and 10 mm MDF (Medium wood), and the windows with transparent 4mm PS (polystyren). May be a little bit too heavy...
A the bottom, i added a drawer, to store the basics tools i use when i am printing (pliers, some filament, Kapton tape, Dimafix, etc...).
Better than a long discussion, you can upload .f3d file, and inspect all dimensions.
Photo of finish thing will be added soon, paint is actualy drying.
The .stl file is the hook i used to join the prusa I3 with the cabinet, as the printer cannot move inside it.
This hook is on the M10 threaded rod, and fixed on the cabinet with 2 screews. You'll have to print 4 of them.
Have fun to build it...
EDIT: 2018/03/17:
Oops! when i move the enclosure, the drawer moves it'self!!!
So I added 2 parts: A bracket (Equerre.stl) and a Knob (Bouton.stl).
See the picture of the system to lock the drawer, but with no parts outside. The backet is fixed in the drawer, and the knob secure it. There are 2 brackets and 2 knobs, one on the left side, one on the right side.
You have to print 2 parts of each, and add a dowel (6mm x 32mm long), glued with CA in the knob.
Lowcost solution.
