Update 31 Aug 2016 The model that sits on the X Endstop has a design defect that has come over from the original thingi. When printing a tall object, this support piece bumps against the underside top of the bracket that holds the smooth & threaded rod. Hence as is, you will not get about 180 as the Z height - you will lose the height of that piece - about 130 to 140 mm only, before the X axis just stops.
I redesigned that piece and moved it to the top of the above mentioned bracket. It is fixed as shown in the Sketchup model and needs just 1xm3 screw to tighten it in place. You will also need a total of about 18 of the chain pieces.
I found these cable chain mounts for my printer by gsimpson2g but actual chain required threading the wires and any further mods required unscrewing all the wires and re-threading.
Then I found this chain which is open ended and closed with a clip on "lid"
by sadkins1981.
This was ideal for me but I had to make modifications as the fitting to the mounts was different. Imported and remixed and made the chain a little wider to accommodate more wires if needed. Worked fine although the chain formed a semicircle vertically.
Then I saw this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9A7eHEwHVE4 and decided that a further mod was needed to get the chain to float horizontally instead of vertically.
This model is the result after much printing and testing and the chain is "almost horizontal" and works beautifully.
