This is a handheld case for the Gameduino 2 Arduino touch screen game system.
I added prototype boards with buttons and wired the buttons directly to the bottom of the Arduino Uno R3 ( $6 USD clone at microcenter ) board. The Gameduino 2 itself is unmodified.
I originally started with this case: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:611402, but I had trouble working with it ( due to my lack of skill , not the design ) , so I ended up starting this one from scratch.
Future ideas include substituting the Arduino Uno R3 clone with a smaller board with with a battery input/charging circuit. Something like the Adafruit Feather M0. I might also try to wire in a Pi Zero rather than the arduino. I would like to make the system battery powered and possibly add a speaker.
As for software, so far, I modified the Frogger demo game that comes with the Gameduino to use the directional buttons, and it works very well.
