This case is a replica of an orginal Game Boy case. It's meant to house all electronics to build a Game Boy Zero. I measured an original case with a caliper and tried my very best to put those measures into 3D models. I am a complete beginner when it comes to 3D modelling and 3D printing. I used OpenSCAD for this project (I only found out about Fusion 360 after I was almost done). As you might notice I adjusted the case slightly to facilitate the printing process. I skipped the dull areas around the buttons for example, also the notch in the speaker area is replaced by a plane area. I worked on this for a few weeks and it took me a lot of iterations to get where I am now. I would like to share my current status. In the future I might enhance the case further, as there is still small things I would like to adapt.
Regarding the printing process. I printed the parts with PLA. The blue pictures is the result after printing without any processing afterwards. The white case parts are printed, then I sand papered them, used putty to smoothen the surface, sand papered them, putty, sand paper.. last I used primer and spray paint to finish the parts up. The whole process tok a lot of patience, but for me it was worth it.
I didnt get the chance to design the lid yet, but I tried using an original lid and it closes perfectly fine.
