These handy devices will keep your sofa, couch, loveseat or other furniture from sliding on a laminate, wood or tile floor. I tried other commercially available devices and they failed for one reason or another.
How they work:
Our sofa's and loveseats have round "feet" on the bottom. This device cups the foot so it cannot slide backward or side to side (think teenager flopping to sit down on the couch). You can still easily pull the sofa/loveseat forward to remove from the FASM for cleaning underneath.
Instructions:
1) Your furniture must have feet for this to work (See picture of device installed).
2) Measure the diameter of your feet. The opening on this design is 31mm. Check the diameter of your feet and resize if needed.
3) Print a test FASM and ensure it fits the feet of your furniture and under the frame. Adjust sizing if needed.
4) Print 2 FASM's for each piece of furniture you wish to anchor.
5) Cut and attach double sided Gorilla (or other quality brand) tape as pictured.
6) Clean the floor where you intend to place the FASM's with rubbing alcohol or sanitation wipes.
7) Position the furniture where you want to anchor ensuring the floor under the back feet is clean.
8) Remove the 2nd side of the Gorilla tape. Lay next to the furniture and have a 2nd person slightly lift the furniture and attach the FASM to the floor, opening facing the front of the furniture. Repeat on the other side of the furniture.
9) Once FASM's are placed, gently slide the furniture forward so the FASM's are exposed.
10) Step on the FASM's to securely anchor to the floor.
11) Slide furniture back into the FASM's and enjoy no more magic carpet rides on your sofa.
