Really useful jig for soldering 5.8ghz cloverleaf FPV antenna's.
All the components are held securely in place which makes it really easy to fine tune the position of the lobes and get everything soldered accurately.
1 - Insert your coax cable in from the bottom of the jig and tighten the three lower bolts to secure it firmly in place. You want to make sure it's nicely centered and the bolts aren't so tight that they damage the cable.2 - Insert one end of your lobe underneath the washer and loosely tighten the bolt, just enough to hold it in place.3 - Push the lobe inwards so that the bottom part of it is in contact with the outer part of the coax, then tilt it over to rest on the 45 degree support.4 - Tighten the bolt up so the lobe will not get knocked out of place easily - not too tight though as it's only plastic.5 - Bend the top of the lobe into position so that the top is in contact (or extremely close to) the inner part of the coax.6 - Repeat for all the lobes and solder with a fine tipped soldering iron.7 - Upload a photo to the makes and let me know if you liked it.
You will also need 6 x M3 hex bolts and 3 x M3 washers.
Designed for 0.8mm wire, but should also accommodate wire from 0.6 to 1.0mm in diameter.
I plan to add skew planar (4 lobe) jigs at a later date.
