Fobos (of the Greek Fóßo? ' fear') is greatest of two Mars moons and nearest the planet. According to Greek mythology Fobos was one of the children of Ares. Like Deimos (the other Mars moon), was discovered by American astronomer Asaph Hall that it suggested to name taking care of them thus book XV of the Iliada in which Ares invokes to the fear and the terror. Fobos was discovered the 17 of August of 1877 with the great refractor of 66 cm of the Observatory of Washington, builds of North American optician Alvan Clark. Fobos always presents/displays the same face to Mars due to the tide forces that the planet exerts on its satellite. This same force causes that every time Fobos more approaches Mars, which will possibly cause that, within about a 50-100 million years, the moon falls on the Martian surface or that is disintegrated and their rest form a ring around the planet. In fact, at the moment, it is so near Mars (less than 6,000 km on its surface) that is the satellite next to its primary one in all the Solar System In general terms, Fobos is a rocky block of irregular form, of about 27 km in length in its longer axis. It has an orbital period of 7 hours and 39 minutes Its surface presents/displays a great crater, to which Stickney has been denominated the same one is the result of a collision with another object that was on the verge of destroying to this moon #Ayrk #Fobos #Mars #Moon
