Thank you for ending up at this mod!
Compatibility: FlySky fs-i6, FlySky fs-i6x, FlySky fs-i6b, Waverunner Atom Digital, Navitec , and more to be confirmed
Glad to share the mod I was dreaming of for a while now. The Flysky fs-ia6x is a very simple remote, cheap, and somewhat reliable. Now it is the time to step up to the next level, use 2.4GHz or 900MHz modules with it, without external batteries and cables all around it. The modules can use the PPM from the remote and work reliably on 8 channels. 2S 18560 works well for mine, but I suggest installing a few parts to make it safe, listed below.
Parts you will need:
use the original screws
use the original metal battery contacts from the holder
3 extra 15cm cables to power the module and connect the PPM signal
optionally I suggest:
DC to DC bec step down to 5-6V (use google)
18650 2S overload, overcharge, under-voltage protection board (use google)
Printing took me about 15h with 0.16mm layer height and 60mm/s speed.
UPDATES:
battery cover plate first version is done, print it with 0.1mm layer height
battery cover has a partly print in place mechanical switch (0.4a,b), be aware this will work with pointed 18650s which has a longer positive pin: https://tinylink.net/4n5kW
comment your questions so I can add answers here
Disclaimer:
My remote works with no voltage regulation, however, you need to be aware of the fact, some people on some forums reported failing remotes without the BEC because of the high voltage. I do not take responsibility if this build/mod ruins your remote or burns down your house. It is a simple project for those who know what they do. You must know what you do!
Do it at your own risk.
