This flying extruder mount is a combination of two other mounts:

I have a G2S, which is a dual extruder system, but I'm only using one of my extruders for simplicity. I thought it would be nice to unbolt the second extruder and use it in a "flying" configuration to allow me to print flexible materials such as TPU.
I liked the surgical elastic used in the Sextruder, but wanted to use my spare motor and extruder. There is an A-frame which fits the NEMA17 extruder motor, this has three push connectors for surgical tubing. The bottom section is used to hold the motor onto the A-frame (you need to print two of the bottom sections). Three short lengths (about 7cm unstretched) of surgical tubing are pushed onto the A-frame. These are then pushed onto connectors which have M3 captured nuts pushed into them then bolted on to the carriages.
IMPORTANT! I have modified this printer to use Hall effect endstops:

which leaves a space in the carriage after removal of the mechanical actuator. This is where I'm attaching my connectors to. If you are still using the mechanical endstops you will need to come up with a different solution.
There is a hole in the top of the printer where the second extruder used to be. Tap the filament feedthrough out to M5 and screw in a couple of pushfit connectors. The feedthrough will then bolt onto the top of the printer.
