I have extended the points that go into the bobbin and also extended the nose as i am printing them at 80% scale to suit most of my bobbins and this made the nose just a little to short.
I finish mine by using a pointy blade to notch the tip out just enough to glue a glass bead in to it, and the best way to load/feed the thread through is from the front then ty it to itself and pull it back through.
Thank you mortalhate, best design i have tryed yet.and only needed therse minimal tweeks to suit my personal needs.
I'm printing them with Cura; eSun ABS
20% Gyroid Infill
0.1mm Layer Hight
4 Walls
4 Bottom
6 Top (gives it enough layers to make the inner smooth over infill, my bridging sucks)
Supports on build plate only and at 40deg overhang threshold (limits the supports to the nose and bobbin posts)
Have fun with it and I'm sure there's more than just fly tying for the use of this.
