FLSUN Q5 Alternative Effector
I wasn't that amazed by the original effector and hotend assembly of the Q5. I wanted something more sophisticated with better part cooling. after a lot of try and error I came to the conclusion, that i would need a different, more compact hotend to also fit the both blower fans into the small space, without interfering of the rods.
I got a quite compact design with a CR10 (MicroSwiss) hotend. Unfortunately this assembly is still a bit too bulky, so that the final diameter of the print area on the bed is only about 185mm in diameter, because the rods can collide on some positions with one of the fans.
But im still very happy with this hotend assembly. The advantage is also that it is now an all metal hotend, and i don't have to worry about the poisonous decay of the PTFE Tube in the hotend.
Additional needed Materials:
1x Triangle Lab CR10 Hotend incl. 24V heater cartridge and temperature sensor
2x 4020 radial blower fan 24V (I would recommend the brand WinSinn)
4x M3x6mm
8x M3x20mm
8x M3 washer
6x M3 nut
4x M3 thread insert (M3 X D4.6 X L5.7 Search on AliExpress)
2x small cable ties
Needed Tools:
Soldering Iron
2.5mm Drill Bit
4mm Drill Bit (to clear the holes for the thread inserts)
M3 Tapping Tool
Some guy with a laser cutter to cut the effector base plate (DXF) out of 2mm MILD steel (DO NOT USE STAINLESS STEEL, it will be a pain in the ass for the needed drilling and tapping)
