After "loosing" my FlexRC Ascent in tall grass several times (once took 45 minutes to find) I decided to try a Loc8tor. A gent at my RC club had them on his plane and said they do work. So I designed a top mount for the Ascent. It sort of looks like a radar antenna up top! No adverse affects on flight times or punch outs. The entire unit with mount and zip tie is slightly under 10gm. A cheap insurance policy. It has already paid for itself in lost flight time. I can locate the downed Ascent in tall grass in a minute or two. The unit has its own battery so even with a battery eject, it works perfectly.
