The flag of the Sultanate of Delhi was composed of a white flag, with a vertical stripe in the middle yellow. This flag is attested in the Book of Conosçimiento de todos los rregnos et tierras et señorios que son por el mundo, et señas et armas que han, an anonymous work written in the mid-fourteenth century and whose author is perhaps a Spanish Franciscan friar. The work describes the flags of all the states of the world known at the time. The original description of the flag reads: E las señales d'este rey es a pendón de plata with a bastón de oro tal, ie 'The sign of this king is a silver banner with a golden staff'. Finally, it should be noted that in the book the shape of the flag is not rectangular but in the form of an ancient French shield. #flag #sultanate #delhi
