The flag of Eritrea was adopted on 5 December 1995. The flag is composed of two triangular bands of equal size: green the upper and blue the lower. To these is superimposed a red triangle with the base on the side of the yard and the vertex that reaches the side to the wind. On the red triangle stands an emblem in gold depicting three olive branches. The two side branches, of fifteen leaves each, in memory of the thirty years of struggle for liberation. The central branch with six small flowers for the six regions into which the country is divided. The red color in memory of the blood shed for the liberation of the country, very much during the struggle and then decreased over time. The green color to symbolize the agricultural resources, the blue one the marine resources and the golden-yellow one the mineral resources. #flag #Eritrea #Africa
