Flag of Bahrain

The flag of Bahrain was modified in 2002. The flag is composed of a white band on the left, separated from the red area on the right by a broken line that forms five white triangles. In the old flag there were more than five triangles, but the change was made so that the five triangles represented the five pillars of Islam. The red color apparently indicates the Islamic sect Kharijita, and the oldest flag of Bahrain known is completely red. During the nineteenth century, however, the white band was added, indicating the truce obtained with the neighboring nations, and the broken triangular line was added to differentiate the flag from that of neighboring countries. #flag #Bahrain
