I purchased the Fiskars x7 to use as a camping/survival hatchet. Rather than create a whole new belt clip/holster, I decided to cut off the silly carrying handle from the supplied locking holster, and created this belt clip. I epoxied it to the back of the holster.
The handle of the x7 is completely hollow. I made a plug that fits inside nicely, with two holes. One to allow a cord to go through the existing hole in the axe handle and the plug, and the other to attach a short cord so i can pull the plug out when needed. this allows me to fill the axe handle with emergency supplies such as a ferro rod.
